On Friday, February 17th, the Humantech Group hosted the CME course: “Managing diabetic feet”.
Diabetic feet is one of the major complications of diabetes. The name indicates
the polymorphous pathology that can develop because of distal and symmetrical polyneuropathy and/or arteriopathy obliterans of the lower limbs. The infection should not be underestimated, which is why it is crucial to classify the person and follow them throughout prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
In fact, during the meeting, the participants addressed various aspects related to the course of treatment for people suffering from this pathology: from podiatric management of diabetic feet to the surgical techniques used, passing through the various types of orthotic insole, from the
biomechanics applied to amputations, to sharing practices, ideas and approaches in the patient rehabilitation process.
The scientific manager of the CME course was Dr. Clarissa Garofalo – Podiatrist and Orthopaedic Technician.
Numerous speakers attended, experts in pathology:
• Dr. Fabrizio Losurdo – Surgeon specialised in Endocrinology
• Dr. Fabrizio Gervasoni – Surgeon specialised in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine
• Dr. Alberto Galuppini – Orthopaedic Technician
Special thanks to Dr. Giacomo Clerici, Surgeon specialised in the treatment of diabetic feet, for attending the meeting and sharing his world-class experience.
