Overview
Through an overview of the anatomy and biomechanics of the foot, the course offers a focused explanation on interpretation of the data from specific equipment and tests, presents the various materials available, and aims to broaden knowledge of the foot.
An overview of the main pathologies and clinical conditions that lead to the use of custom insoles and shoes will be the part that most unites the course attendees: physiatrists, orthopaedists, physiotherapists and orthopaedic technicians.
There will also be a session on electronic baropodometry, both static and dynamic gait assessment, and essential examinations for specialists who want to prescribe and assess custom orthopaedic insoles and shoes. The results of these tests will allow the various specialists to understand how to assess the patient and the technologies applied when making orthoses.
Goals
- Learn more about pathologies related to the foot and its mechanics
- Know how to examine the patient for a proper assessment of the orthotic insole
- Be aware of the various types of insole that can be made
- Understand the course of prescription leading up to providing a custom orthotic insole
- Learn about the most suitable orthotic insoles for each pathology treated
